Work at Home Scam Alert: The So Called $5.00 PayPal Credit or The So Called Free $5 Solution
By Shelley Lockwood
I see this website it says.............The $5 Solution, A complete on-line Business for JUST $5
"Do you want to make money on the Internet but only have a limited amount of both money and time?
Are you tired of all the 'Surefire Biz Ops" that promise big and deliver little?
Well get ready for a breath of fresh air!"
They go on to explain all the benefits of signing up yadda yadda yadda.
Now the person who was promoting this was particularly sneaky. I admit I got suckered.
First they promoted the $5 Solution...of course to sign up you need to open a PayPal account.
Then this not so nice individual mentions how if you don't already have a PayPal account you will receive a special bonus for signing up....$5 will be credited to your PayPal account.
He even used a graphic from PayPal
So in fact (according to this particular slime ball) you get the $5 Solution for FREE!
Well I jumped at the chance. I mean even if it turned out to be a crappy choice, I had nothing to lose, right? It wasn't going to cost me anything.
Wrong! After signing up and paying for my $5 Solution (now here's a real breath of fresh air hmph) turns out there's some fine print to the $5 for signing up with PayPal. Apparently you have to "complete the bonus requirements" first.
What are they? No biggie:
"To receive the $5 New Account Bonus, U.S. members must verify their account, add $250 by electronic funds transfer, and sign up for our Money Market Fund to start earning a return on their money."
"International members must add a credit card, complete their PayPal Membership, and send a single payment of at least $250 with their PayPal account to receive the $5 New Account Bonus."
To top it off, after becoming the not so proud owner of a $5 online business, I couldn't bring myself to promote it.
So thumbs down to:
$5 Solution- It really doesn't seem to be anything more than a glorified electronic chainletter. Yes payments are made directly to your PayPal account. Yes all you pay is $5, and you get everything they promise. All you are really doing is asking people to pay you $5 to get the same website and then sucker others into giving them their $5.
PayPal- Some of their graphics and banners really are misleading about the $5 signing bonus. They should be more up front about the "bonus requirements". Their name is known and their service is in demand, they don't need to mislead people.
A Super Duper Double Whammy Scamfreesuccess.com Really Wet Raspberry to the slime who was completely dishonest in promoting the $5 solution as free in combination with the PayPal new account bonus.
The silver lining of course, this was a really inexpensive lesson.
