Work at Home Scam Alert: Home Assembly Scams Explained
By Shelley Lockwood
Usually you'll be asked to make a small start-up investment in your "home assembly business". The investment? Purchasing start up supplies and/or equipment or instructions on how to make money with home assembly. Sometimes both.
Example: Knock down your debt with this simple Extra Income Strategy! Make Money Assembling Products at Home! You can make $400 or more in the first 7 days assembling products for our companies. Easy to assemble products that you can make in your own home. No selling necessary.
One of two things usually happens -
The catch? You buy the supplies and equipment. Assembled the products only to be told they don't meet with "quality standards". The money's gone, you've invested your time and end up stuck with a bunch finished whatchyamacallits. The only possible return on your investment is if you end up selling them yourself. Which was one of the fears they played upon to get your money in the first place - the fear of selling.
OR
Example: Layoffs worrying you? Find out how you can make an extra $20-$150.00 per day assembling products from home. Send $5 and sase to.....for easy to follow instructions.
You pay the money and receive instructions telling you the way to make money is by re-selling those instructions. What's sase? A self addressed stamped envelope; how insulting is that? They're scamming money and they won't even pay for an envelope or stamp.
If you're into arts & crafts (especially if you have a talent for it) you could build a home business around that. By investing your money & efforts into starting your own business - not by throwing it away on these schemes. Take care,
Shelley
